"Go or Send." - Rick Whittle

Growing Faithful Children

Growing Faithful Children is a ministry focused on sharing the Good News with children in schools throughout Jamaica. Their mission is to teach and encourage young people to grow in their faith and live Christ-centered lives that positively impact their communities.
Each year, our church in Spanish Fort has the opportunity to send a team to serve alongside this ministry for one to two weeks during the summer. During that time, teams spend their days in local schools, sharing biblical lessons, building relationships, and encouraging students and teachers alike.
In addition to spiritual teaching, this ministry also seeks to meet practical needs—providing resources, encouragement, and support to the communities they serve. Through these efforts, lives are impacted not only spiritually, but also physically and emotionally.
The people who lead this work are near and dear to our hearts, and we have seen firsthand the lasting impact it is making in the lives of so many children and families. If you’d like to learn more about GFC, please visit them online

Malawi Bibles

This effort is focused on providing individuals and families with access to Scripture in their own language, ensuring that each household has the opportunity to read, grow, and be strengthened in their faith. It reflects the deep value placed on God’s Word and supports those who are faithfully serving and growing in their spiritual journey.
In addition to distributing Bibles, financial support helps sustain preachers, provides transportation assistance for locals and leaders, and contributes to practical needs such as building wells.
These combined efforts not only spread the Good News but also demonstrate Christ’s love in tangible ways. Together, they strengthen communities, care for both spiritual and physical needs, and encourage lasting faith and growth for generations to come.

Ronald McDonald House

This ministry provides an opportunity to serve families walking through the difficult season of caring for a sick child. The Ronald McDonald House in Mobile offers a “home away from home” for families who need to stay close to the hospital while their child receives treatment—providing comfort, support, and a sense of community during a challenging time.
Our church is honored to support this mission by sending groups to prepare and serve meals for the families staying there. These meals not only meet a practical need, but also offer encouragement and care to those who need it most.
It’s a simple but meaningful way to show love, support, and compassion to families in a time of great need. For more information or to learn how you can be involved, we encourage you to visit them online.

Local Missions

There are opportunities all around us!

We believe local missions begin right where we are. Opportunities to serve are all around us—in our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and everyday interactions. Sometimes those opportunities are planned, but often they arise in unexpected ways.
As a church, we seek to be attentive and responsive, stepping in to help as needs arise and doing what we can with what we have.

Whether it’s offering support to a family in need, serving within our community, or simply showing kindness and compassion in daily life, we strive to reflect Christ’s love in practical ways.

Local missions is a mindset. It’s about living with open eyes and willing hearts, ready to serve whenever and wherever the opportunity presents itself, striving to love like Christ more every day.
